Looks like it's Friday already Wink

As to your question, I guess it depends.

Will he stick to what he knows to Italy or include many influences typical of his new location? Will he employ a local bookmaker or manufacture the object himself?
@Koen
You're getting to know me. Yes, it's Friday.
I have a new job now.
I fill the vending machines in the old people's home.
You know, the cigarettes don't move, but Viagra and condoms are always empty.
@Nablator
Actually, I would have expected more from you. You only need to enter the name and building.
You will then also find a link to Oxford University.
For a start, take this one.
It's best to look at the local tourist information first.
Pure technology. Then you look for confirmation based on the information.

Diane sent me this image of Caffa castle, part of a 14th century Genoese fortress in Crimea. Most of the crenelations there are currently flat, but this rarely photographed part has some nice swallowtails.

I nearly posted about that one as I have been there. When I first began researching the Voynich I considered this, but now I don't believe there is any connection with the Voynich, although part of me wishes there is.
A bit late (1487), but Cod. St. Peter pap. 32 (Beschreibung der Reise von Konstanz nach Jerusalem) at Karlsruhe has several depictions of swallowtail merlons:

The book is certainly interesting, but as a reverence for the battlements and the time for the VM more than ambiguous.
Every time I read more closely, too great differences are visible, or exactly not visible.
For example, in Croatia he describes the city of Ragusa (now Dubrovnik).
I cannot recognize any of these battlements. Maybe before the earthquake?

It also shows the ancient coat of arms of Dalmatia

Other cases are also very questionable if we take the time of the VM (1400-1450) as a basis.
