Agnus Castus (as they called it in the Middle Ages) is a tree-like shrub, quite large, and the leaves look NOTHING like the VMS plant leaves which you conveniently chopped off in your picture.

V. agnus-castus leaves are digitate, like cannabis leaves, and the plant was always drawn with digitate leaves in the Middle Ages. Even in bad drawings they got the leaves right.

The flower clusters are also very long, not stubby like those in the VMS drawing.

no need to "try" i have a full translation of the page and we no need to live with our theories, just read it.
This page telling us a short story about one poor garbidge collector(text doesn't say, he was a poor man or that was hes duty).When he returned home from the his "business "was dark and he heard a woman scream. As i told to everyone text are very simplified and there is the small problem to translate correctly. A boy tried to rape a young woman and that man stoped that. I don't know which face was hardly damaged(maybe girl one or rapist one by the man), but doctor fixed wounds by that plant.
My idea is, that boy was a garbidge man son(just my suggestion) and he gave a good lesson to him.
By the i dont understand ,why it takes so long to translate one page?If you know like "code",it will take around two hours to read.

Voynich page 65 provides some evidence for the timeframe, when at least this page must have been written.

The herb depicted is somehow new to the people, thus it has to been tested, whether the powder is authentic: 1) the powder is shiny 2) you get a runny nose 3) the powder has a stench smell 4) it is an aphrodisiac.

And, which herb is it? Exactly, as seen on the page, it is a pumpkin, which was carried to europe some time after the year 1492.

Think about dog latin, or comparable forms of latin, in case you want to translate. al=alere, ur=urere, rad=radere, lin=linere. 

A funny joke is on that page. You can see two faces down there at the end of the roots. Guess what? If you decode line one of that page, you will come up with: " 1 Cur met ur natu nite ea ne rEMane nerva onera da fa os merace ai nero ve amen nexus"

Nerva and Nero were two roman emperor. At least Nero suffered from something (described by Celsus) that could have been treated with pumpkin powder, if pumpkin would have existed in europe in that time.

Line 2 is nice. It ends with "tace tacet", which is a known musical term.

Currently I am working on page 78. It is about a way to calculate ("rechnen mit linien", calculate with lines), which is far better than using fingers. I would like to present it here, next time.

These first lines already helped me to figure out that the herb depicted really exist.

It is Teufelskralle, a Phyteuma spec. It schould help against acne and greasy skin. It stinks, by the way, and the smell is hated (line 4, aer osa). However, the herb does not work properly, which is described in the text. So do not use this herb to treat your acne. It is old wisdom, that it does not work.

As in all my translations I was able to identify the herb by text translations, and not by searching the internet for herbs that might look like those that are depicted. My translations helped me to identify things described in this manuscript.

Of note: as some letters are not inside my chart, may be they have to added, but may be not. I do not miss a "p" or a "h", however as some of my passages sound unsophisticated, it might be that I have to add those, or anyone else. Feel free to translate that thing, it is latin.

If your plant-name translations do not look like the actual plant, then what makes you think your translation is correct?

I used the same decipher chart that I presented earlier, which leaves out the letters "b" and "p" because I was not able to see them. Now I revised my chart, and included "b" and "p". In general, those letters can substitute an "a", and each text is much more sophisticated now. Thus, page 3 reads like I would like to show you here. Latin first, then english, last german. I am working on an illustration that demonstrates how to translate.

Key sentence is "with fear back the runic writing".

As someone recently claimed he has decoded voynich language, I have to state that he uses 30% of the decode, that I presented here a year ago. I have not fully added the complete decode at that time, for exactly that reason.

Please find translated page 9. It is about a herb of the genus Kalanchoe. It is used in childbirth. I would also like to present the same page translated sinestre, the reason why voynich is encoded. I present the latin version, followed by the german translation, and finally in english, respectively. Please also look at the herb, it has the uncoded german word "tot" (dead) written at its trunk.

I wouldn't be surprised if I found out that someone trying to take the fast-track to fame had plagiarized but... I don't see a lot of similarity between Cheshire's interpretation and Hoffman's interpretation.


Which parts are the same?

Cheshire's translation is about a volcano rescue and most of his translation is from the "map" folio.
