I too do not think Voynich is encrypted ENOCH. But some of the comparisons have been clever, and it would be interesting if Radim could actually come up with an illustrated version of Enoch with all Voynich imagery that fits the text, that is why I will continue to read this thread.

Register or Login to view. When you present your comparisons, leave out *everything* that is not directly contained in either VMS or Enoch. Presenting multiple random images from unrelated documents provides absolutely nothing of any relevance!

You need to compare the actual contents of VMS with the actual contents of Enoch (which I now understand is not illustrated), and *only* that - and do it in a far deeper manner than making single-word matches.

For example, if Enoch talks about angels, and you see illustrations that you think look like angels in VMS... even presenting a thousand illustrations of angels from other historical documents presents absolutely no evidence of connection between VMS and Enoch whatsoever.

If you can grasp that simple fact, you might be able to rethink your ideas and present them in a more rational manner. So, suggested step 1: Random image spamming gets you nowhere, so stop doing it.

For me, the 'random' image spamming is the most interesting part of this thread. He has posted many images that -while they did not prove an Enoch connection- did lead to genuinely interesting comparisons of imagery. Regardless of their relevance to his theory, he is digging up stuff we haven't seen before.

Earlier in the thread there were also occasionally interesting comparisons with text such as the comparison with the rosettes and some enochian text. (page 15 of his linked pdf in the OP of this thread).

So I get what you're saying, and don't disagree with you on the relevance of many of his images (I have told him as much on multiple occasions), but telling him to just stop posting images as comparisons will lead to this thread being less valuable, not more.

And when it comes to the lion, I don't think he was saying "here is a lion from enoch", he was just demonstrating that the plant root looks like a common medieval depiction of a lion. Yes, this boils down to "it looks like a lion, and the word 'lion' is somewhere in Enoch", but that's a seperate issue.

Hmm, yes, those are good points. In seeing this as solely an attempt to support the Enoch hypothesis, I'd neglected the value of uncovering other illustrations for their own, unrelated, insights.

And yes, I'd just assumed the 'random' illustrations were from Enoch - I mean, isn't that what we might expect when someone tries to connect one document with another?

So yes, you're right... there definitely is benefit in finding other illustrations that look similar to VMS ones, in general VMS research terms. But conflating them within attempts to prove Enoch seems self-defeating.

So, Radim, do you think there might be value in spinning out a new discussion for uncovering illustrations similar to VMS, but keeping the Enoch argument focused on things that are actually directly relevant to VMS?

I’m excited about this. I’m not trying to force anything on anyone here; I’m just explaining how I arrived at my conclusions. I realize I probably started off on the wrong foot entirely. So, here is the situation: The original text—which I believe exists within the VMS—is not illustrated. The author of the VMS added the illustrations to the text themselves. They selected images and motifs they were familiar with—sometimes borrowing them from entirely different contexts—and used them to depict the book's content. Take, for instance, the casting of Sataniel out of heaven: without the accompanying text, the image makes no sense and looks like naked women in a shower. My basic approach is to take the text, and once I see a fit within the VMS, I start searching online for sources depicting that specific scene. It is a truly complex and serendipitous process; with every search, I uncover further connections. I also have to keep the central theme—Enoch and his angelic journey—in mind. Without that layer, I never would have found the many images derived from protective Ethiopian magical scrolls. It is so complex that, from the outside, it might look like chaos. If you let me continue this research just for the fun of it, I think I still have more to show. If you decide to scrap the idea, I’ll simply accept it. There aren't any major breakthroughs on the table right now anyway, so we might as well spend this interim period exploring this.
One problem I see here is that any value of the initial comparisons is diluted by the later comparisons that are clearly just coincidental. This makes it more likely (or obvious) that the earlier comparisons are also coincidental.

This thread is more like a weekly blog where I share what I’ve been working on during a given period; consequently, it might seem chaotic or random. Initially, I was looking at a text (Enoch) accompanied by illustrations. Now, I am examining a Hermetic text that encompasses religious esotericism and elements of Orthodox, Ethiopian, Islamic, and Jewish magical and talismanic practices. Furthermore, the astrological section involves mathematical and geometric knowledge (such as epicycloids). One could dedicate an entire lifetime to any one of these topics—and that is without even considering the script itself as a set of magical symbols from an angelic alphabet. Each of these fields remains a subject of ongoing research to this day. Yes, it may appear random at first glance, but I can see the connections between them. Will we still be able to grasp these profound, ancient connections in the age of AI? For now, I intend to continue sharing and adding topics as the process guides me, though eventually, I will need to sort through the material and organize it into a more coherent form. Right now, it is simply an unsorted collection.
1) I regularly read through—sometimes even at random—individual passages from the First and Second Books of Enoch.
2) I regularly examine the Voynich Manuscript (VMS).
3) Here, I found a connection to Chapter 2 of the Book of Enoch—specifically, how Enoch was taken up to the Third Heaven (by an angel).
4) When I intuitively spot a connection, I begin searching the internet based on that text. I look for historical sources (the origins of the Book of Enoch), geographical references (Ethiopia, Europe, the Middle East), figures associated with the VMS, and details regarding the specific location, field, and time period.
5) In this process, I have examined dozens of Ethiopian magical scrolls, publications about such scrolls, magical amulets, planetary seals, and Solomonic sigils and seals, as well as Arabic and Persian magical texts and European manuscripts.
6) I compared the visual style of the illustrations, the content, the connections to Enoch and angels, and the Hermetic magical and alchemical background.
7) This led me to discover further connections that guide my next steps. I post my findings on Voynich Ninja.
8) This is my system.

Based on my hypothesis, I propose here that the signs of the zodiac are not actually zodiac signs, but rather protective planetary talismans from the book *Kitāb Dhakhīrat al-Iskandar* ("The Book of the Treasure of Alexander"). This anthropomorphic talisman corresponds in form to the figure associated with the sign of Pisces. This specific talisman belongs to the planet Jupiter. The VMS author once again modified the image to disguise it and confuse the uninitiated.

Blindness often symbolizes the inability to recognize the truth, while the restoration of sight represents spiritual awakening and faith. This is one of the main motifs of the Book of Enoch.

More protective planetary talismans from the book *Kitāb Dhakhīrat al-Iskandar* ("The Book of the Treasure of Alexander"). Once again, these are not signs of the zodiac. If they are not zodiac signs, then it is possible that no pages are missing.
I would partially agree with Radim interpretation here.

As I have said several times previously, I believe that the Voynich artist was browsing through various manuscripts in some library, checking pictures and like some kind of medieval dj mixing them.

So like Radim I believe that the picture included here has some religious origins. In the original inspiration it was some saint or even Jesus himself blessing or healing some kneeling man. In Voynich Manuscripts it became two women in the water. The artist also made some terrible mess with kneeling woman's legs which he later tried to cover in a lame way with some "skirt" which looks more like a transparent barrel however  Wink

Unlike Radim I don't look for hidden meanings though. What can be meaning of two naked women in the water where one is standing and "blessing" another and the other one is wearing transparent dress and holding some pincers??? For me it doesn't have hidden meaning, it actually doesn't have any meaning, it is just nonsense.

I considered whether the object held in the hand might be a removed head covering or perhaps a bowl—a bowl symbolizing a blind beggar. Regarding the skirt, I entertained the possibility that the artist was trying to conceal a dog. However, it is more likely that he intended to depict a kneeling figure but drew a standing one, or vice versa. I interpret the scene from the Book of Enoch as a manifestation of the visible and invisible essence. But for now, that is just my own perspective. To supplement this, I am also attaching an Orthodox depiction and an Ethiopian one, both centered on the theme of spiritual awakening.
