  its okay, but i feel this theory is definitively worthy. if i had a sacred knowledge or secret medicine recipies id want to make sure no body could read it,yet id still wish to be able to pass it on to an aprentice.(and i think the stars are the clue left behind)

  my source was the .pdf of the manuscript visually identifing and counting out the read charachters using the stars. a red star means drop the character, the stars between are the characters you keep. the 103 transcription is the star color sequence(top to bottom) front and back. the mask isn't a physical object but a visual "Rythm" you would use to read the book. so far ive been using a per character basis, repeating along pages until it "fails" as i believe each "pattern" corresponds to different sections of the book depending on the complexity of information stored.
  there is no character sequence, as these patterns seem to exclude characters that dont have a visual latin match.(as in i counted out and wrote down each character the sequence gave me on 103(front side first sequence run) applying said sequence to 1-5 in botanical section,yeilded similar results) i cross referenced era appropriatelatin shorthand and conjugation to determine that these seem like instructions,or possibly a healers journal detailing various curios and potions.
