This seems particularly improbable from an academic's lens, I imagine. But that's the truth, everything is documented.

How have you determined this?

Do you have any confirmation for this claim from an expert botanist with some knowledge of medieval herbal MS tradition? I only see some vague resemblance between the plant photos you posted and the drawings in the manuscript, but I certainly cannot make this call or verify this, because I know very little about botany and how plants were usually depicted in the medieval manuscripts. Also, as I have written before, plants in the MS look chimeric and certainly include many unrealistic details (faces in the roots, animal shapes, etc). They could be overly schematic or even imaginary, and there are more than a hundred plants in the MS, if I'm not mistaken. There are not that many possible shapes and arrangements, so it's not surprising that it's possible to find some similarities to some real life plants. Especially if the process involves the same trial and error that you perform with the words.

I have, if unwisely, attempted to reproduce what you have done and a number of my questions about how you did it remain unanswered. I stopped when you made substantial, unexplained adjustments to your rendering of the Irish mid-thread because I could not have contrived a better demonstration of how this is your subjective judgement of the text rather than a method the rest of us can follow.

Not by searching plants. I didn't know of them previously. I have several herbalists, foragers and botanists following me and confirming in the comments of my Tiktok content. The images are absolutely unrealistic, they're magnified/close up.

How do I know you've done that? It seems like everyone is speeding along on their own, with a set of rules that don't necessarily apply to this text, it's not at all a natural learning process. To demonstrate you need to learn. I told the steps and it's not evident that anyone has put time into doing even the initial steps. I've written down every exception and someone is demonstrating this week. I've taught software engineering to adults, and adults with a background in management or in tech sometimes do worse than a truck driver or Target employee for example, because of differences in mentality and a lack of curiosity, the inclination to judge/critique.
