All of my work was independent of outside research. I intentionally did it that way because I did not want my work adulterated with outside influence.

Why would I care about previous research when everyone else has been wrong?

Fortunately, there are not only solutions to the VMS. Many studies relate to text and illustration properties and offer valid insights here. These can ( and should ) be taken into account when investigating the VMS. If you work "on an island", you will inevitably miss out on important aspects ( especially to the rigid Word structure in the VMS ).

Could you explain your "translation" in concrete terms using an example sentence ?
