The question now is whether these towers were typical for this region or whether they also existed elsewhere.

These trapezoid towers are typical for quite a large region, including parts of (modern) Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic. This is only approximate.

There is an overlap with the area where swallow-tailed crenellations can be found, and this overlap is probably quite limited, but I don't think that one should try to argue that the MS originates from this overlap area.
