I find the assumption that the text is based on Hebrew quite acceptable for several reasons. Unfortunately I am far from offering a system that could prove this on a textual basis. Nevertheless I am open to any halfway founded approach in this direction. One focus could be the so-called "ShUM-Cities" and their culture in the German area.
It's entirely possible the VMS is in Hebrew. I actually find this possibility more plausible than some of the other languages that have been proposed, but this thread is not about trying to determine if the VMS is Hebrew, it's about Rebekah 1) claiming she can read it in ancient Hebrew and then 2) proposing words that are not Hebrew, 3) making numerous errors of historical fact, and 4) misreading quite a few of the VMS glyphs.
Plus, she apparently doesn't know how to read medieval Latin script either if she thinks the note under the archer in another hand says "Poar Lentz" (with a supposedly backwards Latin "z" at the end) when it is completely readable as the abbreviation for the month of December (and matches the writing and theme of month names under all the other zodiac figures).
This is storytelling, not research. Plus, I have to admit, my spidey sense says something is familiar and not quite kosher about the way this is playing out.
