Aga, you can't CHANGE the letters to make them into a sentence. You have to read what is on the page.

There's nothing wrong with having four "l" letters in two words. That's the way it is written.

In English, we have "willing teller" and there's nothing wrong with that, 4 "l" letters in two words.


The ell letters are written the same as folio 116v. They have angular loops and are normal for the time. They do not look like "s" and they do not look like "h".

It doesn't matter what it means today. What is important is what is written and it is written "mallier".

Perhaps it means "masher of all" in the sense of "mother of all" but I have not yet found a dialectal form in this way. Or masher as maseru which means marjoram.
I am not just looking for a word, I am looking for the meaning to the lower plant.
I have a few possibilities, but mallier is certainly not among them.

Aga, if you look at the letter "a" in the main text, you will see that it is written differently almost every time. These scribes are not very consistent. They are not professional scribes.

While the muß mel/del/.. sounds still possible, and the shape of ß on muß looks like it, I have mostly regarded that like the odd overwritten C+tail shape over the letter M, also the round shape over the last letter of muß is also a strange overwrite of something that is underneath, maybe y, r, as you can see some lighter shape inside the round shape that is darker, similar color to that C+tail. The real letters under seem to be somewhat lighter.

Surely could be, but it is distinctly well aligned with the beginning of the text, mu. But like anything in VMS; cloud be.

I always had an impression that the last symbol is the symbol for abbreviation and the Voynich glyph r.
