## ENCODING RULES & PHONEME MAPPINGS
The script encodes phonemes (sounds), not a one-to-one letter substitution.
Glyph Phoneme Notes
───── ─────── ─────
d /d/ dāl — also covers dhāl (d/dh merged)
r /r/ rāʾ
l /l/ lām
k /k/ kāf only — qāf is a separate EVA glyph (q), not merged with k
q /q/ qāf — distinct glyph, appears in qo- prescription prefix
m /m/ mīm
s /s/ sīn — also covers zāy (z/s merged). Standalone s = bi- preposition
t /tˤ/ ṭāʾ — also covers tāʾ (ṭ/t merged)
p /b/ bāʾ
f /f/ fāʾ
y /j/ yāʾ — also encodes Syriac emphatic state -ē when terminal after consonant
n /n/ nūn (97.7% follows i — degree counter terminator)
a /a, aː/ fatḥa / alif — three positions: initial=hamza ʾ, medial=long ā, medial short=short a
e (two functions, positional)
In bracket suffix position: element/quality degree counter e=°1, ee=°2, eee=°3
In lexical word position (between consonant roots): ʿayn ع
o /ʕ/ or /uː/ or /aː/ Three-way positional rule:
Initial (no preceding consonant): ʿayn ع
After plain consonant: wāw و = ū/aw
After guttural (ch/sh/ck): alif ا = ā
i /iː/ kasra / yāʾ vocalic — degree counter stroke
ii /j/ single yāʾ consonant (not two vowels) — e.g. oiin = ʿ+y+n = ʿayn
g — word-final marker only (possibly tanwīn)
c /k/ kāf — bare c (not in digraph) only; confirmed by dlocta = d-lōktā
ch /ħ, x/ ḥāʾ/khāʾ merged (also ghayn in some positions; bracket glyph)
sh /ʃ/ shīn (bracket glyph)
cth /θ/ thāʾ (t inside bracket)
ckh /dʒ/ jīm (k inside bracket)
cph /sˤ/ ṣād (p inside bracket)
cfh /dˤ/ ḍād (f inside bracket)
Informal Arabic/Syriac shorthand rules:
– Gemination (shaddah) is never marked: khall → khal, ʿaṭṭār → ʿaṭār
– Hamza is elided: dāʾira → dāira
– Hāʾ is dropped in unstressed positions
– Tāʾ marbūṭa dots absent
– Accusative case endings absent (colloquial register)
– Terminal weak consonants (q, trailing r/n) systematically dropped:
or = ʿaraq (q dropped), cham = khamr (r dropped), kam = kammūn (wn dropped)
– Short vowels are marked as well as long ones (fully vocalised abjad)

**Composite**: *"...wisdom, in petition, [...] which I have. [That] petition [at the hour of] holy prayer, house of the physicians, perpetually [___]. Treasury of remedy, [mild], by the mercies of the Virgin and the Trinity, of the place of thorns and poplars, mild and perpetual, [called upon] upon [all], perpetually."*
This follows the standard 15th-century East Syriac monastic dedication formula: invocation of wisdom → petition → sacred context → institution + dedication → physical location description → perpetual blessing.

Hi,
Why do you think that You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. "behaves quite differently"? It is damaged so some words are a bit difficult to make out but it has enough vocabulary in common with other pages to not really stand out. Many pages have less vocabulary in common with any other page (in % of the total) than f1r.

The You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. reading is a side quest, it's a request to the community for falsification while I also work with Arabic scholars to do the same.
