  Yes, this whole thread from the beginning, there are mostly my posts, where I openly and consistently state dozens of coincidences. I don't have to convince anyone of my truth. If you want to continue studying herbs and recipes, you will have a beautiful filling for many, many years. I am not forcing anyone. Look at my posts, if it resonates with you, I can explain specific things with pleasure. I enjoy the adventure of discovery.

  I have been reading this thread since it got going, and I've mostly seen comparisons between art? Can you link me to a post that's NOT about side-by-side pictures? I must have missed it...

  Okay, I'm ready to explain the individual worksheets that I'm posting here. They are thematic worksheets. So let's start by dividing the VM into individual parts and assigning individual parts of the books of Enoch to them. Each part of the VM and each section of Enoch are absolutely different and have different contents and are connected to different sources. Tell me which part you need to explain. I borrowed a table to help (source given).

  I suppose so. I believe this solution never gets into the proper analysis of the text.

  Like no one except the author of VM, I cannot yet read these words. But I know the content and the source text of the images. I think that once we know the source text and the possible languages in which it was written, it will be possible to compare the text of VM and the Book of Enoch.

  Further found pictorial correspondences between the VM and Ethiopian liturgical art. Supports the Ethiopian trace in the VM and the connection with the Book of Enoch and further the trace leading to Athanasius Kircher. The correspondences are in the Astronomical part of the VM, which presents the Astronomical part of the Book of Enoch. (30 days a month)

  I am tickled by the idea that the VMS artist may have mis-interpreted halos as wide-brimmed hats (like he apparently mis-interpreted a rosary as a chain of big balls, and a urine sample flask as a perfume or elixir bottle).

  But another possibility is that both the VMS artist and that Ethiopian artist drew inspiration from the same source book, possibly through multiple copying steps.  
  
  Can we find other books, preferably European, with that same sort of imagery: ladies in tubs up to the waist, with decoration on the tubs that resembles columns and arches?

  Can you elaborate this part?  I skimmed through that book some 25 years ago, and remember only that the astronomy part was quite childish.  What was that calendar with 30-day months?

  Yes, I will prepare an explanation for the Enoch calendar. In my opinion, the artist VM did not misinterpret the images. They are deliberately distorted and edited so that only those who knew where they came from would recognize them. The holy figures that are not in Enoch only help to express phrases from the book of Enoch. For example, regarding sinfulness, faith, ascension, rebirth, etc.

  The very first "zodiac" pisces shows clearly some women in more spacy "buckets" or bathtubs/barrels, one even leaning her elbow onto a rim of her tub. Those crawling out of "capsized" tubs show that these are vessels with bottoms, really more like barrels.
  Nothing here allows a negation of tubs/barrels,
  and nothing gives any evidence to a "clothing" understanding.
  
  You made some other comparisons to ethiopian Mary figures at last;
  these mary figures are squatting upon pedestals each, while VMS ladies, at least of the zodiacs, are standing within their vessels, whatever those are.
  
  Even more, the ethiopian stuff seems again to be centuries younger than VMS.
  
  As much as I am personally greeting all approaches that are able to look East and have nothing to do with the rampant Alpine autism, these are, as said already, just some similarities, not better or worse than previous other finds.
