Indeed.  (In Italian too "cero" is a candle for religious use.) 

But "ceree" is the vocative case, used when addressing or invoking someone.  As in "O ceree, cur es tam cereus?" =  "O wax candle, why are you so waxy?"

To say "now take a wax candle" one would say "Nunc cape cereum".

To say "recite it while holding a wax candle" one would say "Recita id cereum tenens."

To say "now let a candle be lit" one would say "Nunc accendatur cereus."

So we must assume that "cere" is an abbreviation of "cereum" or "cereus".  Okaaay....

PS. I asked my faithful lalamo to try to read line 2 "anchiton oladabad multod te cere portad" as Latvian.  It says it could be "atsitiens ola dabā muldēt te cere portals" meaning something like "rebounding organic egg meal here lilac bush gateway".  Well, why not?

Note the squiggle under the "e" of the first "cere".  IIUC, it means that the "e" is actually "æ" or "ae".  Thus the word is actually the genitive "cerae" = "of wax". With the preceding number "i·" it means "one [part] of wax".  On the second example the scribe just omitted the squiggle.

So the You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. "restorer" probably though he could see a "cere" there, but did not see or bother with the squiggle...

That’s a problem for me.
I don’t know any Latin, even though I’m making slow progress.
Nor do I speak any other Latin-based languages such as Italian or Spanish.
I can only work on it using a dictionary.
My strengths lie in the Germanic and Alemannic languages.

It should be easier for you, because German still has 4 cases.  You only need to expand the tables from 4 columns to 7.  The Romance languages completely lost all the cases, so my brain is just missing that processor chip altogether...

You can look for a connection on f104r. At the very least, they share the same word...
