I think it is safe to say that all three "big reds" are those few characters that are closest to the suspect of calligraphy.
For the "29" thing I remarked earlier that this might be even transferred from the previous page, due to humidity or water damage. Something like this happened to 2 plant's pages a bit later.

Calligraphic letters can be nearly unrecognizable even when knowing their basic characters.

So yes, could be head-down chinese signs; or just anything else.
