In the collected works of the Persian poet Kamal Khojandi (1321-1400), among the common letters there are two pairs which have very similar frequencies:
* م (seventh ranked, 5.5 percent) and ه (eighth ranked, 5.3 percent)
* ک (11th ranked, 3.4 percent) and س (12th ranked, 3.4 percent).
Applying these interchanges of rankings, I mapped the most common Voynich "word" {8am} to the Persian word که (for which the English equivalents include "that", "which", "who", "whom" and "than"). That seems a more plausible mapping than my first and second attempts.
Applied to the fifty most frequent Voynich "words", this mapping generates thirty-nine real Persian words which occur in my corpus of reference; and forty-three real Persian words which are listed in Steingass, A Comprehensive Persian-English Dictionary.
Below are my revised trial mappings of the top ten Voynich "words".
