Register or Login to view.Personally, I agree with others that those "+'s" are meant as Christian Crosses, as were sometimes interspersed with text in the past. And then, that the Latin letter reading of this would be "mama". It still means "mother" even in Latin. Perhaps "Holy Mother", considering the crosses?

This is a bit getting off tracks here, from an announcement to dicuss-it-all;
but about f116, I put this in:
![[Image: 882ec2404272aaaf35b59f096313ef1c.jpg]](https://i.pinimg.com/1200x/88/2e/c2/882ec2404272aaaf35b59f096313ef1c.jpg)
So I am preferring "anchiton/anchicon" and
...+ma+via+... with an forgotten an later inserted '+',clearly...
By the way: this very last word is considered "mich", these letters are in clear sight, obviously. The language isn't.
"Mich" can mean "monk" in Czech (in other spelling: "mnich", both deriving from german "Mönch"), though a german translation "me" may be more tempting to those who forcingly want to see any German on this page or the whole script.
"Monk" would fit for a book that presumably was written by - monks. And there are assumptions that the VMS spent some time in czech hands...
Just sayin'.
