5. Conclusion
The linguistic analysis of this article leads to the following conclusions.  The  study  of  the  Voynich  manuscript  marginalia  have  incredible  results. The Voynich  Manuscript  marginalia on the folio  66r  provide a complete description and a translation of the medieval Galician language.  It underlines the results of my dissertation and found clear support for  the medieval Galician that was used in the Voynich manuscript."

Gladyseva read all the month names wrong, and also wrongly read most of the script at the top of You are not allowed to view links. I agree. The results are in-credible.
OK thanks JKP, I won't read the article. But at least I watched the video! Sleepy
Perhaps "Petra" rather means "of Petr", that is to say of St Peter?

No, what she said was literally "in Petra" (or, maybe, "Pedra", if that makes any sense). In short, the way she pronounced it excludes any possibility of something connected with any "Peter".
Given the following information:

- Petra
- monk/monastery
- Dioskorides

... I am nearly certain that she means the Prodromos monastery in Petra, Constantinople. The most important manuscript in the Dioskorides tradition was held and restored there. It was the addition of text in Greek minuscule during this stage which gave the Vienna Dioskorides its close resemblance in layout to the VM.

Interestingly, the hospital attached to the library was known as the Xenon of the Kral, built for the needs of foreigners (mostly Slavic speakers) in the city. It might be that she was able to access Russian literature on the matter.

However, her currently available paper does not immediately give reasons to be hopeful.
I have found "Petra Castellana" You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view..  This Petra probably makes no sense in Gladyseva`s theses but I want to mention it for the sake of completeness.
There is also a Petra in Majorca, no doubt irrelevant also.
Still, it is famous for being the birthplace of Fray Junipero SERRA, said to have founded San Francisco.

Do we even know if Gladyseva is proposing a 15th C origin for the VM?

That's been the problem from the beginning. She gives nothing that allows others see whether her claims are valid, and nothing that reveals her method. She's been making it a 'big secret' all along.

Her article on Researchgate is a vague article with a bit of incomplete here-and-there info on cryptography history and some bad interpretations of medieval script. It does not express anything new, or correct, or useful in moving the research forward.

It's also ridiculous that the Researchgate article footnotes are mostly Gerard Cheshire and herself, and yet her self references are to writings that say nothing. She hasn't published anything in the past except vague abstracts.

It's possible the VMS has connections to Galicia, but not for the reasons given by Gladyseva. Her month-name readings are projections of her theory rather than actual readings of what is written.

I agree.  I read the “Argentina” article a while back and just added it to the mental pile of not useful.  But l do appreciate confirmation of that impression.
Yeah, I really appreciate JKP's traditional confirmative digests of nonsense papers  Big Grin
