Sorry, by "that" I meant guide lines traced with the help of a straightedge, not specifically scoring. See the previous post by @oshfdk for the image. Those lines are thin like scored lines would be, but look like they are in ink. I suppose they were drawn with the same ink-tip that was used to draw the circles, but with a ruler instead of a compass.
All the best, --stolfi
I was referred to this thread, and I hope I'm in the right place.
What I noticed:
If you draw a line through the hand of the nymph in the east, which is holding a sphere, it marks pretty much exactly the point where the circles are interrupted by a cross line, and thus the first leg of the upper quadrant. You can see this because the glyph sequence starts with an “o” here.
If you do the same with the hand of the nymph in the west, it also marks the other side of this upper quadrant quite accurately, again right next to the "o".

The arms of the women in the south and north draw a rectangle quite accurately.
But I couldn't see any meaningful function for this rectangle, so is it a coincidence? I then had the idea that this rectangle could be rotated and always point to four glyphs. But I didn't get any further with that either.
