RE: Arabic very close magic book called Shams Al Maaref شمس المعارف الكبرى

I am glad this thread was started. To avoid biasing the discussion with my own ideas right away, I will present a single example to begin with: a connection between the VMS and this Arabic book of magic. I could write a lengthy post about this, but for now, I will simply state that the VMS contains protective talismans and seals associated with white angelic magic (drawing on not only Arabic but also Persian, Coptic, Jewish, and Ethiopian traditions). What unites them all is the use of Solomonic grids. The words are rendered in angelic (or jinn) characters, and the images serve as talismans (featuring anthropomorphic and zoomorphic forms).
