On the next page, from the diagram of urine formation (or urination, or something else), on f79v, we can see an analogue — the act of defecation/digestion.
At the top — the mouth. The reservoir under the lady with the cross is visually similar to a liver. The tubesmay refer to the intestines, but there’s a discrepancy with f77v, where it’s depicted as a single pipe rather than several. Also, the tubes are oriented upwards, although, in theory, they should be arranged in a snake‑like pattern.

I don’t know what goes where on this diagram. But anyway, the upper reservoir looks like a liver, and the lid on top might be connected to the mouth.
The problem is not only the absence of a stomach, but also of the intestines. Instead, there are some pipes at the bottom. Maybe the author simply didn’t reach it in the course of his research.
And what about the lake with the mermaid? Well, it could have just been a distraction, like “here I see a woman, I see animals, they’re swimming, so it’s a lake.”
