I have found some medieval images of alembics showing structures with connected containers and tubes.
Some elements seem visually comparable to certain figures in the Voynich Manuscript.
I’m not saying this is proof, but it might be worth considering a possible technical parallel in addition to the symbolic one.

Register or Login to view. but I firmly believe that Quire 13 is about pregnancy. f75r, the first page of Quire 13, is about conception. f84v, the last page of Quire 13, is about birth. The images in Quire 13 are either biological (most of the tubes/pipes) or the spiritual nymphs and their activities. I see no place for any alchemy or distillation equipment in Quire 13. -

The image I mentioned comes from a historical article on the history of the alembic and the search for the quintessence.

It shows medieval distillation apparatus with interconnected vessels and tubes, which some people used to extract spirits, essences, or medicinal waters. I’m not saying it proves anything about the Voynich, but I thought the visual similarity of connected containers and tubing might be worth comparing to some of the structures seen in the manuscript. -

I have a question for you. Take a look at the first nymph in the top left on f72r2 Gemini (the Twins). The page is torn and damaged and some of the nymph is gone but you can still see her feet. I think she is standing on grass. What do you think? Is this nymph standing on grass? -

Thanks for pointing that out.
Looking closely at f72r2, it seems to me that the nymph is positioned directly on the circular band, just like the nymph in the circle below. Even though the page is damaged, her remaining foot appears aligned with the circle rather than with any separate ground element.
I don’t clearly see a distinct layer of grass beneath her — the short strokes may simply be part of the circular structure or decorative detailing.
Because of the damage, it’s difficult to be definitive, but visually she seems integrated into the circular framework rather than standing on an external landscape element

You’re right that the resolution I posted was not ideal.
I’m going to replace it with a higher quality image so that details are clearer.

Grass works for me. Hmm, or perhaps its a bed of nails?
