It gives a completely new view of the manuscript. It still doesn’t make any sense, but it’s a new perspective — something I haven’t seen before.

Then tilt it slightly, so the part closest to you is nearest your eyes.
Now, squint and look at the shapes of the letters — you’ll start seeing clusters, alignments, and forms that aren’t obvious when you view the page normally.
