Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forum but have been working on a quantitative analysis of the Voynich Manuscript. I've developed an approach called the "Nordico Paradigm" and would appreciate feedback from the community.
**Key aspects of the approach:**
1. **Methodology**: Quantitative, reproducible framework based on 130 folios (66.3% of the manuscript)
2. **Core metric**: Continuum Index (CI) = 0.72×Pₒ_norm + 0.28×Rᵥc_norm
3. **Main findings so far**:
- Stylistic variation appears continuous rather than binary (Currier A/B)
- Strong modular organization at the quire level (p < 0.000001)
- Identification of an "extreme α" category (CI < 0.30)
- CHOR system shows continuous distribution (0-82%), not binary presence/absence

To what extent did an LLM like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini etc contribute to the paper?
Can you please explain - in very basic terms - how otal, chol, and qok are "functional systems"? -

I have a specific question: In section 2.1 of the paper, the quires are labeled with letters (A to I). Actually, the quires are numbered consecutively (1 to 20). Which letter corresponds to which quire number? What are “others”? -

Does it really matter? Regardless of whether an LLM was used or not, the paper and the work are complete horse crap.
Yes -- One should be tolerant of researchers who happen to have poorer skills. But this goes beyond that -- it is an offensive waste of everyone's time. -

**Quire Letter to Number Correspondence:**
In my analysis, I used the letter system that appears in several Voynich research publications for clarity. Here's the mapping:
- **Quire A** = Traditional Quire 1 (folios f1-f8)
- **Quire B** = Traditional Quire 2 (folios f9-f16)
- **Quire C** = Traditional Quire 3 (folios f17-f24)
- **Quire D** = Traditional Quire 4 (folios f25-f32)
- **Quire E** = Traditional Quire 5 (folios f33-f40)
- **Quire F** = Traditional Quire 6 (folios f41-f48) - partial analysis
- **Quire G** = Traditional Quire 7 (folios f49-f56)
- **Quire H** = Traditional Quire 8 (folios f57-f66) - partial analysis
- **Quire I** = Traditional Quire 9 (folios f67-f70) - very partial analysis
**Why letters instead of numbers?**
I chose letters to avoid confusion with folio numbers and because this system is used in several statistical analyses I referenced. But you're correct that the traditional numbering (1-20) is more standard for codicological description.
**What are "Others" in Table 1?**
The "Others" category (56 folios, 10 analyzed) includes:
- Folios from quires beyond Quire I (J, K, L, M, etc.)
- The Rosettes foldout (quire structure differs)
- Folios with ambiguous quire assignment in standard reconstructions
- Some disconnected folios from various sections
**Complete mapping available:**
I've just added a detailed folio-to-quire mapping file to the GitHub repository:

It shows exactly which folio belongs to which quire in both letter and number systems, plus the reconstruction source I followed (based primarily on Zandbergen's and Gheuens' work).

Thank you for your questions. Regarding AI use: I used Claude AI as a coding assistant for implementing statistical analyses in Python (PCA, Random Forest, etc.), similar to using GitHub Copilot. All methodological decisions, formulas, weight determinations (0.72/0.28 from PCA loadings), and interpretations were made by me.
Regarding functional systems in simple terms:
- **OTAL** = Words like "otal", "otar" that appear in lists/labels (plant names, zodiac labels)
- **CHOR** = Words starting with "ch" that describe attributes (like adjectives)
- **QOK** = Words starting with "qo" that seem to indicate actions/procedures
They're "functional" because each group appears in specific textual contexts.
You're right to question the 196 number - I should have clarified. The Beinecke library has 102 folios, but with recto/verso and standard Voynich research numbering, we typically analyze 196 "page faces". The 130 folios I analyzed represent 66.3% of these 196 page faces.
The GitHub note was outdated - my apologies. The complete dataset IS available:

I've updated the repository to remove that outdated note. Every calculation can be reproduced from the provided data.
