"on" = "ohne" not "auf"
and that is a not a "k" but a "ß" underlaß
also ohne Unterlaß übten = so practiced without ceasing (but "übten" is more "do it" difficult to translate into english) -

Oh, and there’s also the clue I once mentioned for the German version of “tz” regarding the 8 on page 116v: that the 8 could stand for “sz” or “tz.”
That would explain why “oladaba8” contains a proper “d” and an 8—precisely because the 8 in German can also stand for “tz” or “sz.”
Then it says “oladabaß or oladabatz” there, and of course “valtsn / valtzn” = "walzen" (flatten, roll out).
But no one wants to believe me.

it is a good finding, but in VMS there it is: "vbren" maybe something like "verbrenn" (burn) and the other ist "vbten" = "übten" “
v” and “u” are used interchangeably. -

Why doesn’t the word ‘valden’ make you think of ‘falten’ (to fold)?
The little pieces of paper on which the curse was written were folded and then, in most cases, burnt.

Because there are several ways to interpret the charm —I know you see it differently.
The 8 is a Voynich symbol, so it’s actually pointless to speculate about it. It could be a d or a t, but it could also be a simplified form of the German “ß” (sz), which would mean the 8 could also represent tz, ts, or s—precisely because of the lack of spelling conventions at the time; people wrote as they spoke. In dialect, “s” quickly becomes “sz” (two sibilants)
We won’t be able to clarify “Oladaba8” for sure
“porta8” as “portat” or “portas” (or something else)—also uncertain
“valden” = “falten” (to fold)—conceivable. As “valzen” = “walzen” (to roll), also conceivable. But also uncertain.
But the third word could simply be “multos” if the last glyph—the 8—can represent an “s.” Otherwise, I can’t think of any other possibility.
In short: We don’t know what the 8 is, but as “s/sz” it has the most possibilities—that’s a good argument in its favor—
but certain not a proof... in no way. -

I rather believe that "8" is an abbreviation for a syllable. Quite common in MSs of that time. -

Hi, JoJo_Jost. You are right. It reads: "so on underlaß vbten" ! = "so practised without ceasing".
The Umlaut "ü" was represented by character u, since in German Umlaut ä,ö, ü were not yet standardized.
