  I do agree, however, that Cheshire is extremely committed to ignoring all criticism and advice. Luckily his nonsense doesn't make headlines anymore.

  
  I think we are probably all somewhere on a mental health spectrum as we are none of us perfectly rational and such to cognitive biases. So, Gerard may have some mental health issues. However, in my interactions with him I have never felt there were any clear signs on his behalf of mental illness. I completely agree that if you aren’t a psychiatrist then you should be very careful of making diagnoses of mental conditions.

  That's why I started with "has a few screws loose" rather than something specific. I don't really have a good excuse for why I then went more specific, you can remove that comment.

  If you extrapolate based on the spectrum definitions, sure, you could place any person on any spectrum. But what generally places someone in the "diagnosable" range of a spectrum (like me, diagnosed with autism) is when the traits/behaviors/etc are inflexible, persisting, and cause sufficient distress or impairment. If Cheshire has a genuine desire to accomplish something with the manuscript, then I think we can all agree that he is impaired, and that there's no indicator that he is any less impaired than he was when he started, or that anything we say or do will help with that impairment. But if he has no such desire, then there's nothing saying he's impaired.
  
  I don't personally hold any animosity towards him regardless, though. His quotes are good meme material.
