  ‘qo’ occurs 99.6 per cent of the time at the start of a word. It does not occur elsewhere within a word.
  It cannot therefore represent a natural letter, because in almost every language letters also occur within words.
  
  ‘qo’ is not independent. There is an extremely narrow sequence of glyphs: initial ‘qo’ -> ‘k’ 59.8 per cent, ‘t’ 22.3 per cent (the gallows together 82 per cent).
  
  This makes it even less likely that it is encoded as a letter and, of course, makes ‘qo’ as a word very, very unlikely....
  
  Just as an aside...

  qo = qui, qo8 = quit/quid, qe = que, qo(EVA L) = quis usw.

  Total: 5,299 / 38,959 = 13.6%
  
  So, on average, every sixth word begins with a question????
  
  ‘que’ is added at the end, and ‘quit’ is also more of a word-internal element...

  The focus here is on cryptology, not a calligraphy competition.

  How often does (qc) appear in the text?
  Your comment is therefore of interest to me; if it is correct, it would indicate to me the beginning or end of a sentence.

  What I found amusing about this sample text.
  It’s the last sentence on page 166r, and when I turn the page, the first thing I see in the top left-hand corner is a sketch of a goat’s innards.
  Coincidence? Or was it on purpose?

  In medieval manuscript it's not necessarily appended at the end of words, it's often written (incorrectly?) as a separate word, which makes it indistinguishable from qu[a]e.

  IIUC, Latin "que" is another way to say "et" ("and"), but it is not used in the same way.  To say "A B, and C" you could say "A B et C" or "A B Cque", or maybe "A B C que".
  
  "SPQR = Senatus Populusque Romanus = "The Senate and the the People of Rome"
  
  "Tu quoque Brute" = "And you too, Brutus"
  
  "Arma virumque cano ..." = "I sing of the warriors and the man ..."
  
  "Homines vident audiuntque." = "The people see and hear"
  
  Thus the "que" could occur at the end of a sentence.
