  I think this is the part where I am not convinced - earlier in this thread, Stellar translated the first page of the Voynich Manuscript as the book of Genesis. Using his method, I could take the exact same set of 5 words and create: "Eighteen men escape Atlanta Georgia on bridge"
  "Crazy deer cause abominations on path."
  "Common men used Geico."
  
  This is why it's hard for me to believe the translations have "a common thread of subject matter" but I am open to considering it.

  You can pull out anything because you are pulling out random words, as you clearly demonstrate.  That is not the same as what others have done in recognising the theme in the haystack.
  I know few would consider this has anything to do with the correct solution but what if it is right, what if the solution defies what is conventionally expected?  I guess we will just keep working on what is a fringe approach.  What it yields is not going to be relevant for most people. To boot I think the people the manuscript was actually written for have forgotten how to read their own book.

  But Bunny, the ones who are using questionable methodology ARE coming up with what is conventionally expected. They find plant words in the plant sections, they find water or nymph or healing-related words in the "biological" and pool sections, they find star names in the star sections, and zodiac-related terms in the zodiac-symbol sections.
  
  One doesn't have to invent questionable methodologies or ANY methodology to come up with "solutions" that are plausible.

  The table that assigns numbers to the Voynich MS characters has not been much discussed.
  Leaving aside that the column for 7 is empty, and that the pedestalled gallows are not inside it, it is worth mentioning that there are a great many different ways to put the characters in such a table.
  
  As an example, taking the simpler case that one has 27 characters to put into nine groups of three, there are 6.7 times ten to the power 19 different possibilities.
  
  Thus, even if this method was used, the probability that the table is correct is nil.
  
  It seems a pity that so much effort is going into discussing this...

  The thread I mean is not the conventionally expected things.  As you say the expected does come up but if for example you look at the late Robert Teague's work aside from the usual astronomy he came up with a bizarre list of country names using an English language approach, which he later converted to a map.  Then you have the likes of John Stojko, Newbold and Big Jim.  The conventional findings need no explanation, they are as you say expected and not hard to plausibly find, such as the 7 stars which have from the beginning of time been associated with the Pleiades.  It's the obscure and seemingly odd results I am interested in and their common thread.

  Given it's a free forum inviting all to join in I'm guessing it's allowed.  I'm sure anyone not interested will not bother to read or comment.  Some apparently choose to.

  I am happy to start a new thread, but seems related to me as in Stellar's and other similar work.  Compartmentalisation not something I find easy and it honestly seems all related to me, something I have tried to express that I may not see or understand things the same way as others.

  conceal his disc, changing the conditions in the divine allotted order, or perhaps devouring his offspring and then proceeding to renew again.

  You are right, I did use a random string of 5 words. However, I'm not convinced that there is a common theme when you translate longer selections either. I You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. that I could translate a whole section of text (25 consecutive words) into something wildly different than Stellar - JFK's speech about the moon landing vs. Stellar's book of Genesis. This makes me doubt the "theme in the haystack"
