Harvard physicist's take on the VMS
#82
A rambling, free-formed gibberich text could never maintain that kind of consistency and structure over 240 pages! That’s nonsense, and the examples they mention were only 2 to 3 pages long—that’s something to keep in mind.

And a generator? Neither the Naibbe cipher nor self-citation truly matches the VMS’s key metrics. They only come close, but there are still huge differences.

I’ve been working on generators for months—the VMS has such a strange structure that it would have had to be a very complex “generator” if it weren’t based on an actual language. And that level of complexity would be completely anachronistic.

It would be easier to create a cipher that makes use of the principles already known at the time: spaces are not spaces, a homophonic system at the syllable level, different structures for different levels. And possibly also backward/rewerse writing.

And suddenly, with all those tests and computer/AI programs, the thing becomes impossible to decipher—since they work almost exclusively at the token level and at the glyph level, and only in forward direction.

If the underlying language were also highly dialectical, it would be nearly impossible to solve ist.

And as you can see from the structures, something like a table structure underlies the VMS, which speaks precisely to that...

But what am I saying... Sleepy
