Hieroglyphs are not a cypher, yet they were not readable until the Rosetta Stone was found. The goal is to find a Rosetta Stone.

Michael Ventris didn't find a Rosetta Stone to decipher Linear B.  He created his own.  But he had place names.  Place names are probably a lot more stable than plant names and I expect there were fewer of them.  The list of potential plant names might as well be infinite.  We would probably have better luck with plant parts or attributes than with plant names.  We know there are differences between "A" and "B".  Has anyone made a list of the words that are common on the plant pages but are rare on the non-plant pages?
