In my opinion, the procedure for consecrating the parchment is presented here. The process comes from the book *The Key of Solomon*. The first illustration likely depicts male sexual organs, symbolizing that the parchment must originate from a male animal. The second image shows the animal from which the parchment was made—or rather, its young. The final illustration depicts a girl wearing a small wreath; this symbolizes her virginity and indicates that the material is "virgin parchment." The accompanying text presents a magical incantation used for consecration and purification.
