I have long suspected that the marginalia may be an attempt at translation or a translation of a manuscript. There is no way to prove this at the moment, but it is possible to speculate...

I've also looked into this before. The fact that "oror sheey" was nowhere to be found in the MS unfortunately kills this hypothesis.
Unless, oror sheey was in one of the folios that was cut out by Barschius or Marci.

There are problems with letter-by-letter comparison. The word
pchedar has 5-6 letters (if ar is considered a letter, then 5). There are 8 or 7 of them in the word anchiton (if we assume that ch is not encrypted as two letters, but as one). But! For oladaba
d, you can find applicants - this is
qokaiin qotaiin dl. I think the oladaba part is similar to the
qokaiin qotaiin series because it also looks repetitive...
"marix morix vix" can match part
cphaiin daiin ar. There is no triple repetition in the recipe.
The part "paldcn ubreƞ" can be matched with the part
olkeechy or
olkeechy or. "so nim gas mich" is similar to the following
or char cheeol. The letters

The part l ral (cheodl) corresponds to "ic cav ceve", but the word "miltod" does not fit in, and for some reason there is no place for it in the recipe.
Arguments against this hypothesis:
.) All marginalia follow a similar style and were probably created by the same person.
.) The color annotations are in a very similar hand in my view were made by the same person who wrote the marginalia.
.) The marginalia are accompanied by drawings that match the quire and even bifolio style (except You are not allowed to view links.

All this points to the marginalia author being the VM artist.
