Explanation of the imagery on folio f78r.
1) This depicts part of the story of the Seven Sleepers of Ephesus.
2) The sun and moon are shown in the upper corners; the Book of Enoch states that light consists of seven parts, divided between the sun and the moon.
3) A bucket hangs above the sleeping youths in the cave, and the light from the sun and moon streams into it.
4) This divine presence sustains the sleeping youths for 200 years.
5) Upon waking, one of them, named Malchus, goes to buy bread.
6) He pays with a 200-year-old coin in the marketplace, astonishing the onlookers.
7) This is a story that symbolizes eternal life for the righteous.
