In the depiction of God creating the world on the sixth day on folio f80v—which I showed again in #263—there is a sleeping or dead animal. It symbolizes the slumber, death, awakening, and rebirth associated with the legend of the Seven Sleepers of Ephesus. The animal is a dog, known in Islamic tradition as Qitmir.
