Midwifery miscellanea, mayhap Maltese

Personally, unlike some other people here, I find midwifery connection possible:

- the women/nymphs whereever they appear look pregnant
- some pictures in balneological section could be interpreted as hidden images of female reproductive organs
- some pictures are similar to pictures from medical treatise of Trotula of Salerno (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.) who was actually a midwife:
   

Anything else could be interpreted in connection to childbirth.
Herbs? Pregnant women must drink proper tinctures to stay healthy
Astrology? Tintures must be applied at proper phase of the moon or whatever because that's what they believed in medieval ages
Rosettes? Well, that's the hardest part 

Is VM a real treatise for pregnant women or fake treatise for pregnant women without meaning is another story.

The Maltese connection seems much weaker.
On the other hand would you people really recognize anything Maltese like some Maltese art? Personally I would only recognize this 


I would wait for analysis of the text by DorotheeM. If I understand correctly, some is going to appear in the future.
