The name "Adam's health" comes from Amharic (the official language of Ethiopia), where the plant Ruta chalepensis (fringed rue) is called "Tena’adam" (ጤና አዳም).

Well, I'll be darned. Never thought that I would see a real flower that looked like that VMS drawing.

The color mismatch is of course irrelevant.

Register or Login to view. says that the herb is native to the Mediterranean and was introduced to Ethiopia from there (does not say when).  So it is still possible that the flower of You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. was "inspired" from an European herbal.
