Well, it was nice to read, and the Timaeus is a viable choice.
The problem with this approach is that it's relatively easy to take a book and, with some leeway, associate selected sentences to selected VMS imagery, so being able to do that does not prove much, unfortunately. But you may try to follow your Timaeus insight and see if you can make sense of the VMS text in the light of it, give it a try
