"explains" the motion of the Sun by claiming that there are six "portals" beyond the West horizon, and the same number beyond the East horizon;  and each day the Sun comes out of one of the East portals, and goes to one of the West portals, changing the pair gradually back and forth along the year.

I bet that this very crude description of the Sun's movement was one of the reasons why the Book was excluded from the Biblical canon, by both Jews an European Christians.  Even before 100 BC, astronomy was already advanced enough to imply that "Enoch's" description be obviously and childishly wrong.
