Register or Login to view. However, the VMS could be a copy made in the 1400s of an original created in 1005AD. That could perhaps explain the cheap vellum and amateurish scribing, which seem incompatible with the amount of work that would have gone into composing the contents. It also could explain some egregious scribal mistakes, like the rosary beads turned into tennis balls and the urine exam jar turned into perfume bottle on f85r2.
Yeah, I have actually been actively considering that possibility (although not really from 1005AD), but I don't have enough proper evidence for it yet.
It's relevant though to oeesordy's theory. If the carbon dating is accepted, is the theory that voynich used 15th century parchment to forge a document that details a 1006AD supernova which nobody can read? For what possible purpose, ego, insanity or otherwise, would this be worth doing?
Frankly, i'm not sure what this theory actually is. It seems all over the place.
What a mess and a tangled web to weave by Voynich the whole provenance is a misdirection on purpose to hold the enigma. Wilfred Voynich wanted this to be a lost tomb till humanities end. The clues were left there for purpose for that reason his ego he wanted his finger print on it. Yet I have concluded that this mess lead to Wilfred Voynich the forger of it. This MS-408 design 1908-1911. The tongue of the Voynich is incomprehensible only with rare Latin words true. Some of the tongue words weave a little Latin into them and there is metaphors with them too.
