I am curious as to whether there is a connection between the Voynich manuscript and the Carthusian Monastery in Basel which was in the centre of the City and had a large and extensive library. Having thought for some time that parts of the manuscript were written whilst the Papal Council at Basel took place it makes the possible connection interesting.
I am curious as to whether some of the texts that influenced the contents of the Voynich were to be found in the vast library of this monastery.
It seems this monastery no longer exists though its buildings seem to survive and so knowing which manuscripts it held is more difficult.
