Register or Login to view.I mean, this isn't exactly a fringe theory. No one is claiming to have solved anything, just sharing resources and ideas. Providing academic sources is more than most internet sleuths care to do, I'm not sure why it's being met with condescension.
I think that it is being met with fair criticism. Note that this isn't the first time that this hypothesis is being brought forward. In recent years, Kaegan Brewer and Michelle Lewis have done quite a deep study on the same topic, resulting in several peer-reviewed publications, among others at the Voynich conference in 2022.
They also weren't the first, but they undoubtedly had the deepest and most extensive research on this topic.
I'm fully aware this is not a new theory, just engaging with someone who put their thoughts on the forum and received no response. Nothing about their post glaringly suggests it was written using generative AI to me, and they spent nearly 40 minutes online.
I don't think there's any reason to criticize me, I simply drew parallels to a paper on 15th century fertility practices (in Northern Italy, where some speculate the manuscript originated).
This is a very strange welcome to the forum. I suspect people claim who the Voynich is written in Old Turkish using a simple substitution cipher are better received...
