By chopping the generated text into 75 pseudo-pages of 16 lines each, we can approximate the bulk layout of a vms sample (below).  The statistical traces of pagewise self-citation, if present, should manifest on each page independently.

My nitpicking: there is a setting (29 lines per page for the generated text) that should be better than 16 or 26.
