I just looked it up and yes, just before the time of the manuscript. And Taraxacum is from Persian writings about the plant about the 10th century. So having learned that, here is a pic I found yesterday that has a blue (well the whole thing is blue) leopard with both a tongue and teeth in a similar position with what appears to be dandelion leaves behind.
