The flower looks like an obvious reference to a crown - or is that just me?
As for the root, believe it or not but I've considered making a similar thread asking for help. This is not naturalistic, and something is going on. But try as I might, I can't find a satisfactory solution.
There are one or two roots that look very similar. But I'm not sure if including these will help or distract...
