How to cipher your example word: "zodiacus" to D390ZX0 B36Z36 CAZC D39IZ30D
....
Hi Davidsch,
The encryption is based on the "russian peasant multiplication", also called "ethiopian multiplication". Only the replacement of numbers with letters has been added and the special function for "Z" (spaces) and "W" (filling odd words). It works like this:
Word: zodiacus
Converted to numbers: 26 15 4 9 1 3 21 19
z o d i a c u s
Split to pairs:
26 15 => first pair
4 9
1 3
21 19
Calculate first pair:
first number /2, second number *2 until first number is 1
If first number is odd, then cut after comma (i.e. 1,5 is 1)
26 15 => 0
* 13 30 => 1
6 60 => 2
* 3 120 => 3
* 1 240 => 4 ( count for later decryptying )
If first number is odd (*), then add second number to second number.
30 + 120 + 240 = 390
Swap string, result is: 4 390 240
Replace numbers with letters ( if possible), "Z" is space : D390ZX0
This way "ZO" is encrypted to "D390ZX0". The same procedure is applied to all letter pairs.
