I see a strong resemblance between the female figures on f72r2 and f72v2. It could be a kind of pictorial sequence. The way their hands touch in f72r2 is not unusual.

An interesting phenomenon I wanted to mention at some point is the frequent usage of virgo as the woman holding libra. One manuscript that you found shows this clearly:

And a very virgo-like woman is holding the scales in 2 of the others:

Sometimes it is a virgo-like woman, but in many many cases it is clearly the same woman, face, and clothing as the virgo in that manuscript. Is it also possible that the VMS artist may have drawn inspiration for the virgo design from a depiction of libra?
This probably comes from star maps, where Libra and Virgo are in close proximity. So an artist can choose to draw Virgo in such a way that she's holding or reaching for the scales.
