The pond creatures are a paint remover's greatest nightmare.
My  experience is that the distinction between very dark green and green overlaid with light brown ink is among the most difficult.

Since I added a link to this gallery on my web site - here: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.
I would be most grateful if any change to the URL would be indicated in this thread.
I've been looking at You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. a bit lately as the text is nice and clear, probably a trick of the paint.. but I think it's fair to say the roots look a bit "snakey" in your images.
You can also see similar at the base of the flowers where the rightmost has a "tongue" and the others do not.. though that ones even more ambiguous

I'll try to keep the URL as is.

I've been experimenting with automated color boosting (trying to separate similar but distinct hues), and the trio below now looks like something straight from Men in Black. An alien wedding ceremony, no less.  Smile  The work with shapes is very intriguing in the MS.

Ah yes, the infamous aliens meeting in the park section of the manuscript!

I've seen that colour scheme before [Image: tumblr_ltrcuaKsmN1qglr6zo1_500.gif] and I think I know the guy doing the talking. [Image: 61gCvIr3WOL._AC_UF1000,1000_QL80_.jpg]

What is your result of paint removal at the castle from rosettes page?

I don't know if it's just an illusion or not but it seemed possible for me that something was written there:

My bet would be "Venezia" but it would probably be too good to be true Wink

From where I sit, all it says is 'a blob of paint.'  Smile But overall, none of the techniques I tried was able to recover all of the obvious overpainted inscriptions, so the truth is out there.
