The shape on the right does look like 'a' to me. But could be just a curly stamen.

At the page You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. and several other pages there is "rot" - "red" in German. It would be a hint how to paint the picture. That stuff was discussed here before:
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.

Maybe "ila" could be "LILA" - "violet" or "purple" in German? Wink
The mind does go to Lila, but I think that word entered the language at a later date to be of relevance to us. At least going by the Dutch and English etymological dictionaries I checked.
I see ta (in eva), loops on both sides. Possibly another letter after, but it looks more like paint.

I see no evidence of LILA.
It might be EVA k or t but I am not 100% sure the loops on top are really there.

I tried to upscale the processed and unprocessed image but naturally this introduces artefacts

There also is something going on in You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. I tried to merge it with the text of You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. that is partially coming through. Download both images and switch between them. There are a lot of strange glyph-like shapes within that brown calyx that do not come from the verso page.

One of the most baffling paintjobs can be found in You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. The spiny fruit that resemble Ricinus communis have been carelessly overpainted to look like green-blue 'flowers' without respecting any borders of the drawing. The upper fruit are clearly displayed in abaxial view (from the underside) as the stem penetrates right into the center of the spiny fruit. This makes the paintjob even more nonsensical.

There is another possible text in the middle foot of the pharma vessel of You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. / decolored image 162
It looks like 'ov'

Can we get a better look at Virgo's hat? There seems to be a little pointy bit, top center in the original that is missing from your scan.
@Bernd
Would be nice if you could show me page 79v without the green color (the pond). One of the animals is certainly “Lupo” I have seen a few times. The green on the others is disturbing.
Thanks in advance.

I have several sets of images produced by different models, some of them process different parts differently, I will add them to the set/site a bit later.
