Thank you, Koen, you beat me to posting it here!
I wondered if anyone would notice the blush application style Blush Clearly, I am not the only one with attention to detail Big Grin

I will post some more photos as soon as they all go through a final firing (the crowns and stars will be gold)
An update on my project of making a "Voynich-style" 8-pointed star in flame-worked borosilicate glass: I have a new blog post about my process of turning the glass star into a lighted plasma sculpture with xenon gas and electricity: You are not allowed to view links. Cool.   Smile
I watched the video, awesome work Cary. I think it was a good idea to coat them like this, the yellow glow feels appropriate  Smile
(Most of) the group of nymphs I have been sculpting in porcelain are looking more complete, with the addition of gold on the stars and crowns:

How strange that the gold is red before firing, I would never have expected that...

I'm sorry for the setback. Can't you like glue the pieces together and somehow cover the seams? Either way you seem to take it much more calmly than I would have  Big Grin
Thanks Koen, well I'm no zen master by any means, but staying calm about porcelain cracks comes from lots of experience with the medium and many, many times of feeling upset about things like this. It's still frustrating, but I try to train myself to either a) creatively incorporate it into the design or b) immediately start to remake the piece before I have time to feel too upset about it  Big Grin

(Yes, I could glue it, but there would still be a visible line, and since I don't want glaze or paint on this part of the porcelain, there is no good way to disguise it. And adding more glaze isn't an option, since the fired porcelain is no longer porous, new glaze won't fuse to it again.)
Since some of you also appreciate Cary's artwork, she just finished my new favorite, the star/thunder thing from You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.

The star from You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. and the streamers of "lightning" next to it inspired a continuation of this sculpture experiment last week, I made a second glass star that has a more active lightning effect inside. The different effects are made using different pressures of krypton gas sealed inside the glass shape. The first one has more of a steady blue glow, and the second one has more active "lightning bolts" inside the star's points. I posted a video comparing the two: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.
They are both well done, but I like the second one the best.
