Well yes of course, one (or many) can speculate all day, isn't that how we figure things out?
What is the synonym of speculate?
Some common synonyms of speculate are cogitate, deliberate, reason, reflect, and think. While all these words mean "to use one's powers of conception, judgment, or inference," speculate implies reasoning about things theoretical or problematic.
The water air earth of Gower, although similar in coloration and tripartite nature, has the following differences.
1. The Gower has the orientation of the North up Oresme TO, the Vms has neither that of Orseme nor Isadore, but is south up, which was a relatively newer orientation for maps in general than the original East up of the Isadore.
2. The colours in the Gower have other colours and textures mixed in which give context, the vms is colour only, with faces added which give context that doesn't match, nor do the colours match the parts.
3. The context in the Gower example seems to be rippled blue white water, as seen in many old maps, nebuly red blue air, as seen in many examples in this thread, and green grassy earth in the habitable zone of the Oresme paradigm. The vms would not be Oresme due to all the zones being inhabited, but would work with the Isadore TO paradigm of Africa Europe Asia, with Asia having a North East and South East.

Globes need to be differentiated by the type of information that the artist chose to represent. Basically, either geographical or elemental. Then, there's the manner in which the artist chose to make that representation.
Tripartite geographical maps are often T-O, with East at the top. Tripartite elemental representations are often *inverted* T-O with water on the bottom half. The method of representation can be pictorial. Gower's cloud bands certainly tend more to the symbolic. And water is the perfect blend of pictorial and symbolic. Or the globe representation can be linguistic.
In the little VMs representation, the areas are distinguished based on their colors and the T-O "T" is sideways. If the elementary globes are an imagined hypothesis, then the little VMs image is a caricature of a hypothesis.
