A Partial Breakthrough Has Been Made in Decoding the Voynich Manuscript
#1
In many of the illustrations, the stems appear as though they were attached to the cut surfaces of the roots as an afterthought.

Rather than depicting natural, living plants, these illustrations look more like "artificial flowers created through grafting."

Interestingly, there are lists of plants categorized by the strength of their roots versus the strength of their stems and leaves.

At the beginning of each horizontal row of illustrations, a tube-like object is depicted.

Previous hypotheses have suggested that these objects were vessels used for boiling or blending plant materials. However, if we assume that the roots and stems are meant to be connected, these tubes could be interpreted as attachments used to join them.

Supporting this, the illustrations show that plants with longer stems require longer attachments.

Yet, it would seem unnatural to have two separate attachments—one for the root and one for the stem—when a single attachment should suffice.

How, then, would these two attachments be connected?
