Initially, I believed that all of the Rosettes were a map of a city. However, I later realized that this interpretation was rather absurd, as there would be no point in creating such a map for a single city.
After looking at them again, I noticed the following: the four Rosettes in the corners of the quadrifolium differ from all the others (including the island) in that they most closely resemble geographical features (a hill on the top left, a city on the top right, a lake on the bottom left, and a second city or temple on the bottom right).
And I thought the following:
"There was an wrong image"
1 - Mount Sinai
2 - Jerusalem
4 - I've always thought that the area above the blue cross was farmland. This may be a depiction of Gosen.
These are the very first associations.
The central Rosettes (by the way, their difference is that they are all symmetrical and "schematic") may have a clear religious meaning. If we consider the central island as a hill (rather than an actual island), it could represent the Heavenly Jerusalem.

I've heard a lot about various Christian interpretations of Rosettes, and it seems to me that it's not entirely absurd, as it could explain its presence in the VMS (again, why would a herbalist or an alchemical treatise need a map of the city?).
It seems to me that there is no point in criticism. Your theory is based on your erroneous interpretation, which you have accepted as the absolute truth.
I didn't accept it as truth, don't lie. I just decided to share my spontaneous thoughts on the matter.

Oh, I read about this hypothesis somewhere.
The interpretation of the Island as Heavenly Jerusalem is obvious, but the question is, what do the Rosettes on the left, right, top, and bottom mean? Since there are four of them, they could represent the four elements. The rightmost Rosette represents water, and the leftmost represents fire. -

The Heavenly Jerusalem is one of the images of the Kingdom of Heaven; a city sent by God at the end of time. It is mentioned in the book of Revelation.
The length of the city is about 2 km (12,000 stadia). It is described as a three-dimensional figure with equal length, width, and height, i.e., it is either a cube or a tetrahedral pyramid
In the Middle Ages, it was depicted as a city:
And it may be depicted in the Codex Gigas (but I haven't fully understood it, and it could be earthly Jerusalem).
It can be assumed that the Rosettes are a conceptual representation of Heavenly Jerusalem, and there was no need for the author to depict it. Perhaps he did not see the icons or read the Book of Revelation, but simply heard about God's city.
The part of the Rosettes that I haven't numbered can generally be seen as forming a pyramid (given that the island is slightly larger than them; the Upper Rosette has a small "pipette" pointing towards the island; the Rosette below and to the left has holes. This is not proof, of course, but it may indicate that they represent the "corners" of the pyramid).
